Hi,
I've been at this for 2 weeks after troubleshooting an issue with regards to the modem, line outside being cut by Bell doing fibre upgrades, and line noise that appeared out of no where.
I can finally get 40 up and 900 down when I connect directly to the modem in bridge mode. I know I was able to get those speeds through the router at one point after swapping out the ac68u for the ac86u. What I am getting is 34 up and 400 down at best through the router.
Things I have done:
-swapped modem out. (new modem performing to specs)
-tested wire from router to modem (able to get gigabit speeds from a laptop to the bridged modem using the same wire)
-turned off QOS (made the speeds worse).
-installed and configured FlexQOS (did nothing really)
-disabled AiProtect (made the speeds worse)
-rebooted whole network, no difference.
-Upgrade to latest beta release of Merlin running (386.1_beta2) after upgrading from the latest stable release, still same issue.
Once thing I've noticed is that I don't get the nice IP 94.x.x.x anymore and I get this 174.x.x.x which I've read attributes to poor performance.
CPU performance is normal and not peaking by any means.
Is there anything else I can do or look at? Oh, I got one of those crappy white hitron box modems.
