New Around Here
i recently ordered a refurb N66U from newegg to replace my trusty Linksys E3000... i installed Shibby (101 AIO 64k) TomatoUSB as soon as i got the router and everything seems to be working fine but my wireless speeds are slower compared to my old E3000

I have tried both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, many different channels, 20Hz and 40Hz streams, and yes I'm using WPA2-AES... i have 3 wireless clients (2.4ghz N laptop, 5ghz N laptop, 5ghz 3T3R desktop) all about 15-25 feet from the router and I'm getting about 30-70mbps. My old E3000 was doing 80-100mbps all day long at both frequencies

At this point I'm thinking that either the TomatoUSB firmware is not as good as the stock firmware or i may have a faulty device (refurb)... first things first, i want to try the stock firmware but not sure on the safest way to go back. Can I just install it from the TomatoUSB upgrade screen like any other 3rd party firmware.

Secondly, anyone have any input as to what else I can try to find out whats wrong with my connection?

Boot the router in recovery mode by keeping the reset button pressed while turning it on, then use the Firmware Recovery tool from the Asus CD to flash the stock firmware.

After it's flashed, turn it off, press the WPS button, and turn it back on while keeping the WPS button pressed. After about 5 seconds release the WPS button. The router will be back to factory default settings then.

Regarding the performance issue, try the usual: set it to a manual channel rather than auto, put it on 40 MHz channel width (unless you have a lot of neighbor networks intefering), and see how it goes.

- Remove limitation about 22 bits netmask
- SD card support only for RT-N66u (save space)
- Add support for Asus WL-330gE
- Add support for Huawei E3131s-2 (module and usb_modeswitch data only)
- Remove some extra themes from TOR-VPN builds (save space, image was too big for Netgear 3500L v1)
- Compile/include mdadm tool only if RAID is set (save space)
- Fix a bug in the Asus/Linksys Red Themes
