GOOD CHOICE TO USE 87U/R AS A ROUTER ONLY?

Guys,

I am in need of splitting up my router / wireless access point into 2 units. I have an R7000 currently and picked up an 87R for use as the access point. Well the R7000 outperformed the 87R for wireless range in throughput in my house, so I am going to use that as the access point. I liked the features and detailed options / logs / etc. in the Asus firmware, but is it better than say a 68U for routing only? I tried a Linksys LRT214 as the router and it gave spotty performance and couldn't give me my full 125/25 speeds reliably unlike the 87R and R7000.

Thanks,

Y2J

For pure routing performance, there should not be major performance difference between 87R and 68U...

Check router charts by yourself, difference is neglible...
