good Nas that can act as HD as well

Hi all
Im in the market for my first NAS. I want a NAS that can act as an external hard drive if connected to PC with usb port and with gigabit support or atleast good speeds over network.My main objective will be copying files into it with usb port and playing those files with media players connected over the network.
I looked at the following:

Buffalo Drive station Flexnet (usb but no gigabit)
Lacie network space 2 (usb/Gigabit)
LaCie d2 Network 2 (usb/gigabit)

which one is good please suggest??is there any other available better then these i should look?

LaCies are about the only NASes that provide both USB and LAN connection (but not simultaneously).

i know it won't be simultaneously as i have to define different partitions.. so which Lacie product do u recommend ?
i just want ability to connect to my media players thru FTP,Samba,UPnP etc
and ability to go to sleep mode for low power consumption

Haven't tested the d2, just the network space 2.
