I finally decided on this as my main router, because of the dual 5Ghz channels - I was upgrading my internet to fiber, and 2Gb or 5Gb. I have read this router may not actually handle 10G, but that is too expensive now and not really needed by me, I'll likely max out at 5Gb.
FYI, this is the best router I've ever had, and I've had a new Asus router every couple of years. It easily bests my old AX-11000. The hardware is substantial and looks fantastic. the antennas are much better constructed and more robust than earlier routers I've owned.
Had it several weeks now, very pleased. I passed on the BE 98Pro, Since my experience with WiFi6 is it goes a limited distance.
FYI the best mesh node to pair with this I found is the GT6, I really like it.
I have not played with Merlin yet, not sure it would help much, but this firmware is very stable. I just wish the 16000 had 2.5G ports, but it does have a 10G port, so I run that to a 10G/2.5G switch.
