So, I've had the GT-BE98 Pro for a few weeks now and it's a huge disappointment.
First, the range/covered area is less than my old trusty AX86U. Of course that doesn't have the 6GHz bands, but the devices I have don't have it either with the exception of a Pixel 8 Pro.
Second, MLO only ever connected the 2.4 and a single 6 to the Pixel. That was some improvement, but why the odd choices of bands? There is nothing at all on the other 6, little traffic on the 5.
Third and most important, devices drop off WiFi on a frequent basis. Noticeable only if you look and see a phone is on 5G or LTE. I also had to wire my TV because of all the disconnects. Doors, irrigation system, etc. All have failures that never happened with any previous ASUS router.
I've done the usual things, forget the SSID on devices where that's possible. Factory reset, install new/different firmware and factory reset. Yeah, the list goes on through default WiFi settings to changing 2.4 settings to match what I used on the 86U.
At this point and for the obscene amount of money it cost, back it goes.
It may get better with new firmware, and of it does I may try again. For now, it isn't ready to take my money.
