New Around Here
Man, really need your expertize. :confused:
I purchased Hammer storage e week ago from Ebay (new); but it came without any software. I connected it to my network, and I can ping it.
All lights are green, however, I don't know how to connect to setup raid and backup.
Please. please, please email to me any docs or soft that you have with Hammer.
Your advise would be greatly appreciated.
thank you, Mark :)

I am not really famliar with this unit but a quick Google search comes back with not much. It sounds like to setup this unit you have to install some software on a client computer. Looks like the company might not be around any more either as I was unable to find a company website to download the software.

The only other thing I can recommend is trying to try connecting to the ip address of the unit using a web browser. Maybe it is configured via a web interface.

Gents, you both are correct. :(
Company = kaput :eek:

Tried IP, https, https, ssh .... nothing.

Still have to find a copy of that MYSHARE soft.
Anybody...?
Plz.:eek:

If the Hammer Z-Box HZD4B is configured like the myshare HN1200, the tricks I found are:

ip will be in the 192.168.1.0 subnet. Also if you don't put in drives previously recognized by the device you have to pull the drive and clear them off. Test it by pulling all the drives, use a test drive, remove all the partitions with fdisk, don't write any to the drive, then stick it in the raid device.

Watch the status lights, if they behave differently then how they did previously, check the ip or check for new leases on your DHCP server, i'll likely start partitioning the drives. If this happens, then you know you *have* to start with clean drives.

The device will get an IP from DHCP, and it can be pinged. Just appears that no ports are open on it to connect to. I can get it to recognize with the task bar program that runs, it tells me when the device cold boots, but I cannot get it to come up in the software. I started a forum at hzd4b.com, and will post any info I can find about it there.

PS. I've contacted the people who bought the people who bought Hammer-Storage, and they have been no help what-so-ever. Also have a ticket in with Zetera (They make Z-FS / Z-San) and am hoping to hear back from them.
