New Around Here
Hello, Thanks for the opportunity to join your forum. I've been playing with Windows Home Server for the past few years and I'm getting tired of losing files due to "file conflicts" and BSOD's, and I'm seriously considering a "store bought" NAS device. I'm very interested in RAID-6 arrays. My basic requirements are:
1). Futureproof. Individually upgradeable drives, memory, etc.
2). RAID-6 ... or at least RAID-5.
3). Hot swapable disks.
4). gigabit network.
5). nfs/cifs/samba.
6). media server functionality for streaming music and videos (WDTV Live device).
7). Something I can just plug-in, configure, and leave alone!
8). Ridiculous amounts of storage
Based on what I have been reading here I'm leaning towards the ReadyNAS Ultra 6. Does anyone have any experience with this device yet? Thanks!
