Hi guys,
Just a quick one. I have a DS1511+ and I am a little paranoid about losing a drive due to overheating. I have a raid 5 setup up so I can afford to lose 1 but not 2.
First got the NAS in winter and regularly checked Hdd temps at about 29 degrees Celsius on quite fan setting. I live in a fairly warm part of Australia with average summer days up around 30 degrees Celsius.
Its nowhere near that hot yet and already my Hdd temps are around 35.
At what temperatures do hard drives start to have issues and will changing fan to cool mode make much difference.
