New Around Here
My ASUS RT-AC87U is on the fritz, and it's getting annoying. It's ~2 years old, so no warranty (I assume, anyway. And I opened it to check if it was dying because it was dusty, so there's that too).

Anyway, I have several 5 GHz devices that I like to use on the network. Internet speed is 200/20. I connect a usb3 HDD to the drive to act as network storage, and appreciate being able to access the files on it through the asuscomm website. Those files are also hosted via samba to the computers on the network.

Can anyone recommend a good upgrade? There are some decent sales on amazon right now...and those may sway decisions?

Thanks!

Actually, this may turn into a troubleshooting question. I think the problem is with the attached NTFS drive. I am seeing this in the error log...

Nov 26 16:51:01 kernel: __find_get_block_slow() failed. block=4809121304, b_blocknr=514154008

If one is comfortable with the Asus WebGUI and how they do things - the RT-AC3100 is a nice forward looking choice...
