I have an RT-N66U, latest merlin build.
I have an issue whereby if I am transfering a file to my Nas Drives via the network (From XP to seagate central (ethernet to router) and WDMy Passport usb to router) Over 2.4ghz connection. It somehow interferes with the xbox 360 in another room and causes my son to disconnect from xbox live.
I have a 100/6 mb cable line. I've tried port forwarding all the ports for the game, the console is also in DMZ and I've also tried adding the xbox live stuff to traffic management. I've tried with traffic management off and on automatic as well. The only fix seems to be if I stop transfering a file. The strange thing is that uTorrent works fine and doesn't disconnect the xbox at all. No problems streaming stuff off the hard drives either. Just when sending a file to the harddrives. Could it be 2.4ghz interference on transmitting? rather than overloading the network ? I don't know, I'm stumped. I am using an N66U transmitter on my pc so could this be blotting out the xbox weedy one in the next room ? I had a similar problem to this while transfering files over the 5ghz band, it interfered with the wii pad, I fixed this by using the pc on 2.4ghz band.
Any help from you clever people would be great. Thanks for reading- BD
