New Around Here
Hello. Have tried almost everything and am at wit's end.

Have a Asus RT-AX86U router for which I recently tried to reset due to a web gui change that failed to save - it was running the latest standard firmware. Have tried to reset it both by pressing the reset button on the back for 10+ seconds (https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1000925) and by turning it off/pressing the WPS button/turning it back on/releasing the WPS button upon the power LED showing/turning off & on (https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1039078). Have even put it in rescue mode and reflashed the firmware by connecting a computer to the router via Ethernet (https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1000814/). Still unable to connect to 192.168.1.1 for web gui or get a Asus SSID for the router to show. Router was only purchased 1.5 years ago so don't think the hardware failed and was just used at home for surfing/Netflix (ie nothing heavy duty).

Have also tried using device discovery but can't find the router (https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1037094/) and also tried the 30-30-30 hard reset with no luck

On top of this, have tried to subsequent to reflash the hardware to Merlin but no change. I'd note the laptop is an Asus Zenbook but as it has no Ethernet port, using a dongle with Ethernet to connect to the router. The router hasn't suffered any hard falls or exposed to any heat.

Lights-wise, Power LED is lighting up with a solid light plus the WAN light occasionally

Any help would be appreciated.

So after reset it never booted properly?

If this is the case - unfortunately not the first report of this happening. I remember recent GT-AX11000 and GT-AX6000 cases. Seems like hardware related issue. Any remaining warranty for RMA?

Fortunately it is under warranty. Thinking there is what I am going to have to do about this....

If you have tried all of the above and you are sure it was done correctly - get RMA, send it back.

I had an issue with my AX-68U and after shipping to the warranty center I was sent a refurbished replacement which ended up having the same problem. When I returned it, I was shipped a factory sealed device which works beautifully..if possible, I'd recommend seeing if they will ship a new one instead of a refurb :)

Double-check your PC's ethernet adapter settings to confirm your ipv4 protocol is not set to anything other than to obtain an IP and DNS server address automatically. Then check details... IP should be 192.168.50.xxx If it's anything else, reboot the PC. Is the ethernet port on the pc showing any traffic?
