I've been having some issues with my AC66u since I bought it. I tried to use the new ASUS 354 firmware (from ASUS), but the problems didn't go away. Was looking for some assistance with the Merlin Firmware. I didn't find any clear answers to my issues on the main Merlin page.
I was wondering if any versions of the Merlin Firmware fix some of the issues I am having.
5Gz N problems --- I have to reboot my router at least once a day, sometimes more. The N band becomes slow and the signal strength drops to nothing. Sometimes the signal strength remains strong yet all traffic stops working. I am the only wireless N router in the area.
DNS issues --- Maybe I'm missing something, but I am unable to add DNS entries in the router. I can assign manual DHCP leases, but I can't seem to add a DNS entry (e.g. host name, IP address). My FIOS ActionTec router was able to do it (router I replaced).
Server reboots when manually adding a static DHCP entry --- This just confuses me completely. Not sure why the router completely resets by just adding a manual DHCP address, but it does. Takes all internet traffic off-line.
Very slow user interface --- Once you change the administration page to be HTTPS, the interface becomes sluggish. I also can't change it back to HTTP because it says port 80 is in use (/boggle)
Thanks to whomever is working on this firmware, I was hoping ASUS would be more pro-active with their top of the line router, but I've starting to become dissapointed in my purchase.
