I posted the same question on DSLReports forum and I am seeking help from Merlin firmware experts
This is for people who want to access their SmartRG VDSL modem (or, for that reason, any DSL/VDSL modem) from behind the router (i.e. from a PC connected to the home network)
My previous modem - Sagemcom - I was able to access directly by typing 192.168.2.1 with no voodoo magic or tricks involved - and it was great as I could reboot the modem remotely. Unfortunately, with SmartRG I cannot do the same thing - 192.168.1.1 (default IP address of the modem) simply does not resolve (my network is 192.168.0.xxx)
The router I am using is RT-AC56U running the latest version of Merlin Firmware (so the same procedure will apply to N66U/AC66U/AC68U routers)
Guys - any easy way of enabling access to the modem?
thanks in advance!
