How to config VPN or DDNS service with private WAN IP address 192.168.x.x

New Around Here
My modem RT-AC68U is connect with Cable Modem.

The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address (192.168.x.x).

I tried to set up OpenVPN, seen with error:

The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 172.16.x.x). Please configure DDNS service before starting the VPN server.

Then I tried to enable the DDNS service, with another error:

The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address (192.168.x.x, 10,x,x,x, or 172.16.x.x).

This router may be in the multiple-NAT environment and DDNS service cannot work in this environment.

Can anybody please tell me If the VPN or DDNS service will working with the private WAN IP?

OpenVPN defenitely does work when on a private network.
Edit: at least in my version of the FW...and in order to use it, the Cablemodem/Router needs to treat the ASUS as an exposed host (portwarding of all traffic).
Edit2: assuming you were referring to OpenVPN *Server* in your post.

However, the standard ASUS DDNS client will refuse to connect/work when on a private network. (fortunately, my ISP provides this service to customers automagically).
