I would like to monitor all traffic both in and out of my LAN. I want to know if Microsoft is sending any data to their servers from any clients on the LAN as well as other programs that call home.

I would like to use my Synology DS111 NAS for the logging as it is on all the time. I don't leave any computers on 24/7.

I do have a fairly large USB 3 flash drive plugged into my router which I could use for logging if need be.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a step by step tutorial or some sort of guide.

I'm willing to purchase software if need be to accomplish this task.
