I'm looking to set up FTP and Media Server accessible through internet on the RT-N56U, while retaining FIOS triple bundle features from the primary Actiontec FIOS router. I seem halfway there; please advise how to complete?
Per Asus tech advice, I have RT-N56U in AP mode but USB features not all working. Download Master to USB external hard drive works; but don't know how to set up FTP to access from internet. In AP mode, Ai Disk option not visible in GUI. The Asus is WAN to LAN of FIOS Actiontec router, to keep TV/DVR use (Coax from ONT connected to Actiontec for Internet, Phone, TV service bundle.) Actiontec wireless is disabled, Asus providing the wireless, with DHCP assigned dynamically by Actiontec. Tech advised I don't need a static IP for the Asus; setup DDNS and port forward only on Actiontec ports 20 and 21 to the IP address of the Asus. With
GUI of Actiontec I find the port forwarding but can't figure how to implement. Plus I have another Download Master GUI which says it cannot find the Asus device when I try to connect; not sure I need that but it keeps starting up. thanks!
