Good Day All..

I have been using the ASUSWRT Merlin 380.58 build and all has been working well.
Merlin has done a fabulous job with his builds. Thank you Merlin.

My question is testing the Block routed clients if tunnel goes down option.

Of course if I turn the client off I can access my ISP since the route tables get flushed.

I know to test the tunnel must go down.

So my question is.. What is the best way to bring the tunnel down to test this option?
Should I just do a ifconfig down tun11 from command line?

Thanks in advance for those that take the time to answer. Just want to make sure it is tested correctly.

You could try unplugging the WAN, and wait to see the System Log report that OpenVPN lost its connection. Plug it back, then test Internet access during the time the client is still not done reconnecting to the VPN server.

Merlin,

That is an excellent idea. I was only focused on the tunnel itself. I will give that a try..

Thank you!
