So I changed the admin login configuration to use HTTPS, and I assumed it would be https://192.168.1.1, but that does not work at all. I can't find anything in the manual about how im supposed to connect to the router now. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

HTTPS port is 8443.
 
I wouldn't have known to connect on 8443 unless I had seen this (and I have 30 years of industry experience).

When you enable HTTPS support, a new field pops up right below that setting, displaying the port.
 
When you enable the HTTPS, does the Web UI get slower?
I'm using Chrome in Windows 8.

Yes. Encrypting the page before sending it requires some CPU power.
