I'm curious if anyone has the patience to dig into killing the ads in Hulu? The Pi-hole guys used to have a bounty, but they closed it and moved it to a feature request and it's been abandoned.
There was some promise to this a few years ago; I've attempted to implement it myself but ran into issues since Hulu now moved to https connections instead of http. It worked on old Hulu clients, but not on the Hulu app on the Fire Stick in 2020:

I'm curious if there is any combination of pixelserv-tls + the Pi-hole hosting of a fake ad approach that will resolve this? Will having system root cert such as pixelserv make this more doable or even possible?
What makes this even less enticing to tackle is Hulu's worldwide availability (or rather lack thereof). I don't think it's set to go live until 2021 outside of the US.
