I want to set up Entware on jffs on RT-AX86U Pro. I’m using fw 388.8_4 with amtm 5.1, I know about risk but I still want to do this

I read other posts on forum and I saw the instruction to modify entware-setup.sh but can’t find this file to edit.

Please help me. Thank you.

From ASUSWRT Merlin Wiki:
Asus routers produced since the RT-AC68U use high endurance flash memory rated for 100,000 Program/Erase cycles so wear should not be an issue for most applications. Current Asus firmware now uses the JFFS partition to store not only logfiles but databases and other frequently updated information.
So installing Entware on jffs is possible

You would be much better off getting a good USB2 thumb drive, like a SanDisk 16 GB, and using it for the swap file, Entware and addons. The USB2 works just fine for the addons on an AX86U Pro.

It is your router and I don‘t recommend it. So don‘t come here to complain.

I follow your post to install Entware on jffs and it works perfectly.
I only install some simple packages as htop, iperf3, openssl-sftp-server… These package didn’t write to jffs too much so I didn’t worry about that.
Thank you so much.
