I recently replaced the Atheros WiFi/BT combo in my Asus N55SF laptop with an Intel N6230. Up until now I haven't been able to get a stable 300 Mbps link between it and an ASUS RT-N66U router. The bandwith on the router is set to 40 MHz and when the N6230 is set to 20 MHz I get a stable link of 144 Mbps. When the N6230 is set to 40 MHz I get speeds continuously fluctuating between 120 and 300 Mbps and sometimes it looses connection. Disabling BT helped somewhat in that it doesnt loose connection anymore. Can someone point me in the right direction in solving this issue? Is it an antenna problem. Is the N6230 faulty? Please help.
