Internet connection drops frequently for 1-2 minutes (AC86U router connected to Netgear mobile MR1100) running AsusMerlin..Help me figure this out

I Really tried to figure this out for a while, but haven't been successful
my only internet option is a mobile provider using a physical sim card is installed to the Netgear mobile router MR1100 (IP pass through enabled to Asus AC86U) WIFI Disabled on the Netgear MR1100 (Nighthawk M1). i have an Ethernet cable running from the Netgear MR1100 to the Asus AC86U.

i don't know if the problem is from the Netgear mobile router (WIFI disabled) or the ASUS AC86U

- Internet connection very frequently drops completely on all devices (asus wifi still connected, just no internet)
- usually drops for 1-2 minutes, sometimes every 30 minutes, sometimes every 15 minutes, IF i'm streaming on all devices (so if i'm downloading or streaming at the same time, the connection drops even more frequently, bandwidth heavy tasks cause frequent connection drops
- Asus AC86U is running latest asus merlin, Netgear MR1100 also running latest firmware.

You need to by process of elimination determine if it is mobile router or ASUS router.

Turn off the ASUS router and connect all devices to Netgear router and see if over time you still get drops. To make the switch easier you may be able to use the same SSID and password on the Netgear router so you don't have to make any changes on devices connecting. It is possible Netgear router can't handle the traffic. Mobile hotspots I have used limit connected devices to no more than ten.

If you don't have problems when directly connected to the Netgear then it is probably the ASUS router. The AC86 has a reputation of not being a reliable piece of equipment. You can try a new/different power supply and see if that helps. You also can try a new Ethernet cable between the two routers.
