I have an iLUV internet radio, by JWIN, that WILL NOT stay connected. To their credit, IWIN replaced the first radio with a new one and STILL having problems. I have a D-Link DIR 825 router and D-Link's second level techs. can't solve the problem either. The radio is built in G wi-fi.
Here's the environment: the radio is 15-17 ft from the router in the next room and the frame house is 2400 sq. ft.. No steel construction. The router is 5 ft off the floor and the twin antennas face the radio. The router drives 3 computers with NO problems. One computer is Ethernet, one notebook has built in G wi-fi and the older notebook has a D-Link dual N adapter card. All 4 devices share the 2.4 band and I've even optioned the router to only "use" G wi-fi on the 2.4 band. Of course this means the dual N computer is only using G and I plan to steer this computer to the 5 band.
If the radio is turned on, alone, with no computers having an active connection success is very limited or intermittent. If just one computer is made active the radio connection is almost certain to happen. When the radio connection is lost I try to change stations or turn off the radio and it usually "hangs up". I have to unplug and replug the radio to bring it back to life.
Any ideas out there???
Thanks - Downsized
