To avoid the NAS IP address changing due to DHCP, you can likely config your router to do a "DHCP Reservation" or their alias name for that. You tell the router's DHCP setup the MAC address of the NAS and what LAN IP address you want to fix to the NAS. So whenever the NAS asks for a new/renewal of its IP, the router will give the reserved address.

Also, the NAS config itself probably has a way to give it a "static" IP so you don't have to do a Sherlock Holmes to find out. Just choose a static IP address outside the DHCP range used in your router.

This scheme also works for any PC or other LAN device.
