Looking at the inside pictures of the NAS, it appears that there is an extra RAM slot to add more RAM. In the review, the NAS was taken apart to show the PCB. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to access the PCB in order to add 2GB RAM to the extra slot.

After the review, was the NAS put back together (without damage) by SNB?

It looks like the metal frame uses stamped rivets. Can the PCB be accessed without damaging the metal frame and/or NAS?

Any suggestions from Tim would be great!!

Thanks!

From the review:
Fan removal requires opening the case and probably removing the small backplane board. The latter is easy, though, because the backplane is mounted on a metal plate that is secured by two screws and plugs into a connector on the main board.

And to add to this from almost a decade in the future, another 2GB module can be added for a total of 4GB ram, but the unit is picky about the module so some may work and others may not. I have read online that 8GB is also possible, but have not been able to find 4GB modules that work successfully.
