iOS browsers crashing from webui changes

I am pretty sure too that it's Apple's problem. I also realized that in iOS 10.3.2 there is no way to reset/untrust SSL exceptions (short of fully resetting and setting up the iDevice as new which is almost never an option of course).

I tried clearing Safari cache, 'Reset Network Settings' and 'Reset All Settings' to no avail. Previously, it was easily done simply through clearing Safari cache or even removing the single entry under 'Website Data'. Not any more.

I guess the only 'workaround' is to use HTTP, for now at least.
 
No. Seems that problem is on Apple side (can anyone confirm?). I sent a bug report to Apple six months ago without any answer.

FWIW - there were changes in WebKit (upstream from Safari) with https and mixed content with http elements.

If the initial connection to a host is https, then everything inside that host needs to be https...

Not sure how to debug this inside windows, in Mac, there are steps to debug the site using Safari on Mac and the iDevice tethered (remote debug) - one needs to have developer options enabled on the Mac Safari side - which is easy enough.

In any event - this is likely the problem - Safari is being strict on the context of the connection - it's better for security.

This isn't limited to Safari - Chrome can offer same opportunities for sites that don't handle TLS security correctly...

Apparently, this would have to be fixed on the router firmware side then. I hope Asus or Merlin will be able to accomplish this at some point in the future. Or maybe the upcoming changes in Merlin's 380.68 Beta are the ones to also cover the issue in question?

Finally fixed in iOS 11!!

Nice spot! There was an update to Safari on my Mac today as well so may it’s in there too. Will check it out tomorrow.

You cleared the Cache in Safari? I've rarely had issues with the MacOS version and the UI.

Tried many things! Safari starts eating ram and cpu every time within a couple of mins of logging in. Sometimes to the point the whole Mac locks up. Did it on my mid-2013 Air and now on my top spec MBP.

I have seen times where it takes down the Mac as it's downloading hundreds of MB of data in next to no time at all. Last time it happened about a year ago, I went under the Preferences-> Privacy->Manage Website Data... and cleared all items that were related to the router. 192.168.x.x. This seemed to fix the issue for me.
