IPTV and ASUSWRT Merlin

Hello,

To give you a little background I have XS4ALL in Holland which gives you a Fritz!Box Modem/Router with port 4 turned on for IPTV. I've been struggling to replicate the same scenario using my own modem/router combination. Specifically getting IPTV to work. Although the Fritz!Box has a nice list of features, it's just not powerful enough hardware to cover my apartment.

I tried dd-wrt on my Netgear, the Netgear stock (which is "supposed" to support it but doesn't work) but I finally got IPTV to work using a Merlin build ported to my Netgear (XWRT).

With that in mind I decided to then buy an ASUS router to get the full support I needed and went with the RT-AC87U.

When I first tried to set-up IPTV using the stock firmware (378_5134) the IPTV didn't work using the same settings I used on the Netgear XWRT firmware. I switched my firmware over to Merlin 378.54_2 and instantly the IPTV worked again.

Is the stock firmware broken for IPTV?

I'm not sure if anyone else is in Holland with XS4ALL but I didn't need any of the "Special Applications" settings to get it to work either. Does that sound correct? I want to make sure I've got optimal settings and that the IPTV is sucking out any of my bandwidth.

Attached is a screenshot of the IPTV page.

And thanks Merlin for all of your work, I've owned ASUS routers in the past and have always appreciated your version of the firmware over stock.
