Is 10-15 MB/s average for N66U 5ghz?

I have a samsung laptop with an Intel 6235 2x2. Router is N66U at 5ghz, 40mhz. I've been getting around 10-15 MB/s (usually around 110 mbps on average). I'm about one room away (2 walls). The router is, unfortunately, sitting in an entertainment center (no doors). It usually locks in and stays on a consistent number (i.e., no sporadic speed changes). No interference from neighbors.

Is this normal?

Yes, that is perfectly normal. 5GHZ radio has higher attenuation than 2.4 GHz and also it depends on type of wall and construction material and channel you are using for 5 GHz radio.

Seems normal. I only have experience with linux but I average 90mbit with an old HP Pavilion DV5000 laptop using an Asus USB-N53 adapter. My Acer ZS600 desktop gets slightly over 100mbit using some Atheros 2x2 card.

My signal strength will range from 70/70 to 30/70 but the throughput rarely falls below 70mbit, through 1 to 3 drywall covered walls.
