Someone turned me onto using "Speed of Me" as an Internet Speed Test. I like it, no Java, no Flash, just the facts.

I recently upgraded Internet Service from 6 Mbps to 60 Mbps. When I run "Speed of Me" from my laptop it shows only 35 Mbps. When I run the "mobile" version (on my laptop) I get 75 Mbps. I tried 3 or 4 other Internet Speed Tests and they all show 60 to 65 Mbps.

I use Chrome so, on a whim, I tried it using Edge, same laptop. 75 Mbps.

So I tried it from a Chromebook. 35 Mbps.

Everything worked fine when I only had 6 Mbps. Anyone else having trouble with "Speed of Me" over Chrome?

Chrome does some interesting things with HTML5 and multiple streams.

Give DSL reports Speedtest a try and see if things line up with your observations - if not, then contact then Speed of Me site.

I have trouble with Chrome, period. :)

Reports 70 Mbps. Failed buffer bloat. Guess I'll be playing with QoS / bandwidth limiters later this week?

Left message with Speed of Me. Thank you!

I would avoid speed of me. I routinely get 940 Mbps up and down on speedtests. On speed of me I got the following:
Chrome V63: 278/63
Firefox V57: 568/72

As sfx2000 said give the DSLReports test a try. I've found it to be the most reliable test. It also will ping multiple servers and use the best ones for the test. I also get accurate results using https://www.nperf.com/en/ but only with Chrome. Firefox does not like it.
