Is it possible to add more ddns?

I just change firmware from toamto to merlin

but the ddns function is not enough

in tomato, it allows two ddns at the same time

and it provides following ddns

Just use dnsomatic. Only one setting on the router but you can add as many ddns services as you want to your dnsomatic account.

Except Amazon Route 53. Which is feedback I've given several times to OpenDNS (DNS-O-Matic). That's the one thing I can point to today to say my setup is "less than perfect."

However the firmware asks for a hostname with de dns-o-matic DDNS service. Probably a minor mistake. dns-o-matic doesn't use any hostnames. What did you fill in there?

The hostname I'm using is all.dnsomatic.com. Works great and I've had no issues updating two different ddns services.

I just moved my domain to namecheap and I'll probably save the whopping buck a month to move from zoneedit to namecheap's free DDNS. Is there any downside to dnsomatic at all?

It seems the other option I could do is run a DDNS client on my Synology server since that's awake all the time, but I've got enough services running on that already that I'd rather have the router handle it if it can.

I'm just puzzled why people need to use several different dynamic DNS services for on IP address?

I would set up ONE dynamic DNS service, and then set the other addresses as CNAMEs for the first hostname.
