Is the 2.5GbE LAN/WAN port a security risk?

Is there a latency penalty using the 2.5gbe port over the wan port? I have a RT-AX86U, I think the gbe port is made by Realtek, and the other ports are all Broadcom?
Different hardware versions of the RT-AX86U use different switch chips. But I doubt there would be a measurable difference between either. Just measure it for yourself if you're concerned about it.

No, given the latency inherent in any ISP connection.
