New Around Here
got it in 2005. very expensive. I am finally going to go N. But im confused whether this router is really N or a "pre-N" ?

you know?

Good question.. even with pre-N to N firmware updates...
Show me a product that is formally WiFi Certified as compliant with the 11N standard as ratified.

That's N1 not N2. Like the Belkin N+ is N2. What's your rated speed on that N1 most of them only gone up to 270mb/s.

N1 pre-means before N2
N2 draft not not finalized yet
N2 standard finalized

It you're referring to the Belkin N1, yes, it's an N router. Whether it is equivalent in performance to an N router you can buy today is another matter. Belkin isn't that great with updates.

If it gives you a link rate of 130 Mbps with an N client in 20 MHz bandwidth mode and 270/300 Mbps in 20/40 (auto) bandwidth mode, then it's N.
