I am currently running a Windows service to allow me to airprint to a shared non-airprint printer. It would be nice to not be forced to have my PC on just so I can airprint though.

Hence the reason of my inquiry.

Is there such a thing as an airprint printserver that can run on a Asus router?

Sure. Search Amazon for Networking Print Servers

You might want to look into CUPS which is available in Entware.
Not sure how well it works, I have never tried it.
