Issues connecting printer wirelessly.

Hi!

I have an RT-AC87U with 380.59 Merlin firmware, and I'm having issues connecting my printer wirelessly. It's an HP Photosmart C4780

I tried with the WPS setup first, both with button and PIN. It says "Failed due to WPS communication error".

Then, i tried configuring the wireless setup through the setup program. It finds my network. But when I connect it says it can't find the network name. I then get to set up SSID and authentication manually, my SSID is pre-filled allready. After I put the password and click next, it says can't connect and to try and disable IP-filtering. I don't have IP-filtering enabled. I have no idea what the issue might be. It worked perfectly on my old D-Link DIR-655. Any help is much appreciated.

1. Be sure your 2.4 Ghz radio on the router is set to Auto mode and channel width 20 Mhz.
2. Try and delete the WiFi network profile you had set up on the printer. Then re enter the SSID and password and then see if you can connect.
3. If 1 or 2 doesn't solve the problem see if you can get the printer to connect to your guest network SSID. If it will then you know you have to dig deeper into your WiFi settings to solve your problem.

If your printer is near your router or an Ethernet connection point consider connecting your printer to your router using an Ethernet cable and turning off the printer's WiFi radio. People with wireless devices can still print using the printer they just connect to your WiFi on either band and print to your printer which is now set up as a network printer. In the long run this is probably the most reliable setup.

If your OS is windows, tried from control panel >> devices and printers >> add a printer routine?
