New Around Here
I'm wanting to enable jffs support on my RT-AC53 router. From other posts is seems like jffs is supposed to be enable by default on the ASUS firmware but on the RT-AC53 this does not seem to be the case.

I tried the nvram settings that enable this on DD-WRT but that does nothing. There's a /jffs in the file system but nothing is mounted on it.

My aim is to be able to run a start-up script to tweak some firewall settings but all the workarounds I've found either require jffs or a USB drive (no USB slots on the RT-AC53).

The ability to run custom scripts is dependent of the firmware you're running, not whether jffs is "enabled". Stock Asus firmware doesn't support custom scripts.

Not according to this: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/i...o-run-custom-scripts-on-stock-firmware.48512/

But in any case my question is primarily about the lack of jffs file system on stock firmware on an RT-AC53. Is this enabled on a per-model basis and on one where it's not enabled is there a way to enable it? Assuming I can get it enabled I can see if any of the script hacks work.

Logs survive a reboot so if not in jffs where is the router storing these logs? All mounted file systems are either read-only or in memory (tmpfs, etc).

If there's no /jffs partition then it's not supported by that model.
