New Around Here
Hi, Im quite new to the world of Merlin but ablock on the router seemed like a great idea to me so I decided to give it a go but I've run into issues when installing entware. The router I'm using is the Asus AC66U with the firmware: 3.0.0.4.270.26 (Merlin build).

I have turned On JFFS and I have also formatted the JFFS partition. I have a blank FAT32 USB stick in the USB port on the back of the router.

I am using PUTTY for my terminal command I can log into the router through Telnet or SSH just fine. the issue comes when I type "entware-setup.sh" It shows the Info bit but then a error comes up saying JFFS isnt enabled and that I need to enable it and reboot the router. I have enabled it and reformatted several times to no avail.

Please anyone with any info on this give me any info you have. it will be very much appreciated.

FAT32 is not supported for Entware. You need to use either ext2 or ext3.

Make sure you reboot the router after enabling JFFS2. Also I recommend not using the format option, as it's currently bugged (it will keep reformatting on every subsequent reboots unless you disable it on the webui).

Hi,

Sometimes you need to check "Format JFFS partition at next boot" (and reboot) two times to enabe JFFS.
This was discussed serveral times in the past...

With kind regards

Thats fixed now but Im getting an error on install.

* opkg_conf_load: Could not create lock file /opt/var/lock/opkg.lock: Read-only file system.

Any Word on how to fix it ?

You didn't formatted usb drive to ext2 or ext3.
