load balancing/fault tolerance setting on QNAP TS-439U

I am having trouble getting the right setting for my network connection. I would like to use both ports as a load balancing/faul tolerance and see that 4 of the settings will achieve this, I am unsure which is best. I have heard that some will increase your network traffic which I do not want, can you suggest the correct setting for my network? or how I may go about figuring it out?
