I'll be lucky to get more than 4 days out of it before it reboots on it's own for some reason. Firmware 3.0.0.4.380_4164
What a piece of garbage this router has been so far...but I should have known...Asus, probably the most overrated garbage company on the planet.
I'm going back to Apple, I can tell you that I can set it and truly forget about my Extreme 5th gen router.
This site over hypes garbage routers like the Asus and downplays Apple routers...you really need to check your bias.

This is a screenshot taken a few days ago of one of my customer's RT-AC68U. The router hasn't been rebooted in 267 days, providing access to a LAN of 6-8 employees, as well as remote OpenVPN access to two of them when they work from home.

So visibly, these routers have no problem running for extended period of times without rebooting...

Like my good old RT-N66U and since some time the RT-AC68U, the routers either get a reboot after a firmware upgrade or after power outage.

Like many brands, Asus routers are stuffed with many features, my setup is pretty straight forward, the setup for every user will be different.
Without further details of your router setup we cannot help to pin point the issue with your router.

This page shows the detailed system's activities.
System Time
Uptime 24 days 21 hours 7 minutes 20 seconds

No problems with mine. Only reason that might restarted 24 days ago I made some changes that required a reboot.

I think this is just another flame post.
No details whatsoever from OP. Just 2 more post, one asking for rollback, one highlighting how brilliant Apple router is.
Yeah, we all know 68U is a just another reliable workhorse. Even today pricey. And for good reasons! As a router it just do the job so well! Personally I never had to try Merlin's version after disabling all services I'm not using. The only thing Asus can do better is not to enable not-that-useful features just because they have it. Rather have users enable it when they need it.
My uptime? I'm rebooting it because of security reasons upgrades, other than that...never!

That's reasonable uptime - Linux can run for a very long time if it's left alone to do it's job...

Back in the Shellshock panic, I found a server with over 1500 days of uptime, which was very scary as it didn't have any security patches to the kernel or glibc in that time...

The only time linux needs to be rebooted is for security reasons.

One of the reasons why I keep track of this customer's uptime is people reporting having memory leaks on their routers requiring a reboot every few weeks. So far, memory usage on this specific case has been fairly stable, with a few MBs diff now and then depending on how many users are connected to OpenVPN at the time.

In any case, any stability worries wouldn't be with the Linux side of things, but all the custom userland code, especially that in the rc "super daemon". There's a lot more custom code in a router firmware than in a LAMP server.

try latest fw. For me is very stable. On earlier fw i have also reboot after 3-4 days.

There's a lot more custom code in a router firmware than in a LAMP server.

It was an old lab/development server that processed SMPP (SMS over IP) - apparently the engineer/developer that worked on that platform 'back in the day' neglected to turn it off... (or ILOM powered it back up after a power situation) - I found it during a systems audit when we were listing machines "at risk" for the shellshock bug...

Only reboot my router for firmware updates. Never had Any reboots beside my own intervention or power loss.
