Major Issues Connecting AC Wireless Asus AC68U

Mr Maz

New Around Here
Merlin or anyone if you can please help.
I am unable to connect to my 5Ghz AC Band since upgrading with your firmware, keeps rejecting password even though password is correct.
My iMac and other devices will only connect to the 2.4Ghz network, bought this router for the AC and unable to use :(
If someone can shed some light on a fix I would really appreciate.

Did you do a reset to factory defaults after flashing the new firmware? Followed by a minimal and manual configuration to secure the router and connect to your ISP?

Did you 'forget' the old network in each device and then re-associate it with the router? Better yet, did you create a new ssid for each band?

Do your passwords have illegal characters in them?

Do you have anything that caches passwords? If so, disable it for your router.

You may need to do any or all of the above.

Have done factory reset a few times after reflashing with new firmward and minimal config.

Removed all previous network cached and re-created to Wifi dual SSID with different naming for each and still no go.
Not using any characters only letters.
Don't know what else to try.

Can you be sure you are transmitting on 5GHz, possibly by using Inssider on a Windows machine? Have you checked the Wireless>Professional tab on 5GHz and specifically looked to see if the Enable Radio button is selected?

The Wireless > Professional page from my RT-AC68U

And my General tab

Clutching at straws thinking of the things I'd try: have you tried settimg one of the 5GHz guest networks with no encryption to start with and if successful then trying with encryption?
