Manually set 2.4Ghz wifi channel on Asus RT-AC68U in mesh node

I have two Asus AC68U routers with one running as an AIMesh node. On the main router I have set the 2.4Ghz control channel to 13 thinking that the node would also automatically adopt this channel but it does not.
My reason for fixing the channel is that I have Sony surround speakers in the same room as the node. Occasionally the node will switch itself to channel 1 which is the same frequency that the Sony S-Air speakers use and this obviously causes sound dropouts and distortion.
If I could access the node in the same way as I access the main router I assume I could disable the auto channel selection and set it to 13?
Can anybody offer advice on how to achieve this? Thanks.

Try using channel 11. Do both routers now use that channel?

Are both routers exactly the same model and bought in the same country as each other?

Thanks Colin. I'll give it a go and see what happens. I chose channel 13 as I read that it was less congested than others? Both routers were bought here in Australia.

I have two AC68U in AiMesh running Merlin set to auto and both are always on the same channel.

I switched to channel 11 and both router and node are in harmony. For some reason it couldn't cope with channel 13. Weird!

On 2.4 GHz the channels 1 to 11 are globally standard, the channels 12, 13 and 14 are region specific. Many manufacturers go the easy way and instead of adjusting to the local law they implement what is allowed globally.
The RT-AC68U comes in different versions (like in the past the VW Beetle came in many variations), you may have slightly different builds routers.
