mDNS-Repeater: need help to compile for arm AC68U

Hi, I'm running an openVPN Server with tun interface and I need a way to route Bonjour (mDNS) from LAN to the VPN

I found this guide: http://irq5.io/2012/12/10/hacking-functionality-into-asuswrt-routers/

It seems mDNS-repeater can solve my problem.

The problem is the that the file in the guide is compiled for non-Arm device and i don't know where to start to compile mDNS-repeater for RT-AC68U

Do you have any suggestion?

Ok it seems i can use "Avahi" preinstalled in Merlin asuswrt and that with the correct configuration could work as mdns forwarder/proxy

here explained what to change in the config file:

The problem now is that i don't find via SSH the config file Avahi load on startup

@enrysan0 Do you have luck getting avahi reflector to work for iOS over OpenVPN or some other tunnelling?

I know this post is old, but figured I'd leave this here since I was unable to find this already compiled anywhere else. I used the source from the website in OP (http://irq5.io/2011/01/02/mdns-repeater-mdns-across-subnets/) which links to https://bitbucket.org/geekman/mdns-repeater/

It was compiled using a similar environment to FreshTomato for ARM - https://bitbucket.org/kille72/freshtomato-arm

It seems to depend on the device. I was able to Cast from Chrome on a Windows 10 Laptop to a Chromecast without any issues while connected through the VPN, but I couldn't get it to work from an Android phone. It appears that Android won't send that traffic over a the VPN. If I run packet captures or use the debug built into mdns-repeater, I never see mDNS reach the tunnel.
