Media server issue

New Around Here
Hello,
I've landed here while looking for a solution to a problem with my N66U and I would like to know if Merlin's FW addresses it. I've read the complete thread about the last version and the "features" section of that release, but I can't understand if it will fix my problem or not.

The problem: when I activate the "Media Server", it seems to get stuck during scanning on some videos in my collection and therefore the devices accessing the library only see a small subset of the files (up to the first one which the N66 gets stuck on). The problematic videos are wrapped as mkv and they are not corrupted (I can read them easily with WMP and VLC on PC and with XBMC on RPi).

I understand that the latest release is not ready for my model yet, which is obviously not a problem. I would just like to know if anybody had a similar problem to mine and has solved it with Merlin's FW.

Thanks for your help,
Gianluca.

The same troubles:(.
That's why I switched minidlna off and replaced it with xupnpd. I don't need deep media scanning with heavy FFMpeg libraries, I don't need to sort my photos by camera model, I just want a list of files on my TV screen.

Go to retire, ReadyMedia, you are too heavy for my router.

How else would Netgear (the ReadyMedia dev is a Netgear employee) justify selling their high-end routers? :)

Would you then suggest to install Merlin's FW and change DLNA server altogether? No way to make it work with the standard media server? I'd install Merlin's FW anyway, but if I could avoid fiddling with more settings it would be better. Otherwise be it.
