Good Morning

So I recently upgraded my 68U to Merlin's latest

all working fine.. but being fairly new and going through the threads.. was wondering if someoone can answer this :

What Features or TWEAKS is a MUST have or change on Merlin compared to OEM ASUS Firmware ..

..so which tweak provides most impact and what setting ?

..from what I am reading.. Stability is the most benifical aspect of Merlins Firmware upgrade ..

thanks !

Matt

I have only used Merlin's firmware. Any 'must have' tweaks Merlin has already done. Just look through the options, find out what they do and see for yourself. Everybody's set-up and requirements are different.

These are probably not tweaks, but features I find particularly useful-

The OPENVPN server and client is great.

The ability to connect with PuTTY (or other program of your choice) for command line control in indispensible.

The JFFS partition is good for scripting.

You can get a summary of what's different between OEM and mine either in the sticky thread in this forum, or from the website.

I like the stealth feature.:)

It's one of the main things that keeps me drawn to Merlin's firmware. My RT-N66 is in my bedroom :( .

Many many years ago, this cool dude invented electrical tape.

If you had the fine pleasure of owning a Netgear WPN824NA router, electrical tape came in handy. With out it, your room was a disco night club.
