Merlin users who torrent: what are your torrent connection settings for your router?

I'm curious about what other Merlin users set their max global connections to, as setting it too high will cause your router to overload and restart.

Can you guys share how many connections you set on your torrent client for your Merlin-enabled router?

I'm looking for the max global and per-torrent connection numbers here and which router you own, to figure out what is the optimal setting per router with Merlin firmware

Hi,

My settings are:
Code:
    "peer-limit-global": 200,
    "peer-limit-per-torrent": 10,

The reasoning behind is that I do not want to "overload" my router's CPU with to much torrent work. :eek:
This limits the CPU usage to ~15% when seeding with 1 MBit upstream (and ~25% with 3 MBit - during the night).

With kind regards
Joe :cool:

My settings on rt-n66U, (never overload with 2 computes, 2 phones, PS3 and TV DNLA at the same time)

per torrent: 1000
maxglobal: 1000

Amule: Disconnected.

I don't have these routers, I am on ER6120 max NAT 350mb. But I am curious what are you getting on downloads mb/s on this one you have.

I don't set anything higher than 200/200 on client software also TCP.sys on Windows U-64-bit Q4/2.5GHz/8GB downloader beast is set that way. I've only see 9.88mb/s once. Should have record it but this is what I got the other day 7.83mb/s

Picture is tiny I have to much pictures uploaded on SNB LOL!

I just use Transmission with its default settings. I didn't even have to figure out what most of them mean. Btw, Transmission works pretty well on the router. :) Just plug the disk in, hit the button, and place torrents in the folder :)

I forget to say that I always use Download Master Torrent Client from the router.
