Hi all

Posted this in another category but after searching more I think I might've been asking in the wrong place... From what I've read I can use NFS directly in the merlin firmware?

The post question from the other category is this:

hi guys

I have 2 NAS servers.
I want to share folders from both NAS boxes via WAN.. but.. in my router I specify the NAT ports I want to open, and I point them at one of the boxes.. but how do I then share the other?
I haven't been able to find anywhere I can change these ports so I can differentiate between the 2 in my router...

What would you suggest I do?

Could I somehow achieve this directly in the asus router?

NFS is supported, but considered experimental as it's unstable.

Depends how you share. if you share through a web interface, then the trick will be to expose them on different ports (for example, 9443 and 9444) on the WAN side, but using their real port (and IP) on the LAN side.

If however you are using some other protocol that requires a very specific port (such as SMB), then it's not possible.

hi Merlin..

Thanks... What I ended up doing was enabling the OpenVPN client and mounting through that (we were playing around with sharing in general and so far openVPN seems the easiest option :-) )
