Mom' made the house go wireless, so got rid of AX86u Pro and AC86, bought a ASUS RT-BE92U

Arriving this evening, any suggestions / quick tips I should know that I won't going from the AX86u?

Selling the AX and keeping the AC as an emergency spare.

Sincethere's no merlin, can I use amtm at all on it?

This swap of equipment is not an upgrade and it can’t replace 2x routers in AiMesh for range. Kind of pointless expense.

amtm requires Merlin firmware (or GNUton variants).

I am unable currently to stream 4k to my SHIELD upstairs from where the AX is down, and I've tried the AC in 3 other positions, my laptop can't transfer files to/from my local unraid server which has to sit by the router, and transfers really jank the wifi.

Have you tried:

AX86U Pro router <wireless> AC86U media bridge <wire only> SHIELD

Inspect the router Wireless Log to see the strength (NSS and Tx Rate) of the dedicated media bridge connection.
