I can successfully mount my FTP share remotely in a linux terminal but cannot for the life of me figure out how to mount an SMB share remotely. FWIW I have an AC68R with a DDNS name already setup. I am mainly just trying to figure out how to mount my external hard drive that is plugged into my router remotely in linux using SMB since FTP is rather unsecure and i mainly just use it for local shares. Thanks!

Not that anyone will even reply I'm sure but does anyone know how to connect to my VPN PPTP server from my router using Ubuntu? Thanks!

Also I would like to add that while i am on my local network i can mount my SMB shares no problem. The problem i am having is when i try to access/mount my smb shares remotely.

Nvm I have finally got my VPN server setup. I cannot test it right now but if i connect to my VPN remotely would i be able to connect to my smb share as if i was on my local network?

That is what my router log is flooded with when connecting to my VPN. Anyone?

In the freak chance that anyone actually replies lol. Does anyone know the syntax to mount an SMB share remotely using DDNS?
