My Dell XPS435MT had to have a motherboard replaced within three months of initial purchase. The tech who came to my house failed to make me whole again after the reinstall; he left a "Dell Remote Access Setup" window pop-up; it appears each time I boot.
Dell Online Tech Support stopped the window last night as a courtesy (after some brief exchange) by having me disengage all checked items in MSCONFIG then restart. I was told "Goodbye" and sent on my way.
Well... the pesky Remote Access window is gone at boot up... but so is everything else except Kaspersky Antivirus (which conflicts with Windows Defender which is also a line in MSCONFIG.... but I don't know if it was check or not initially). I'm sure I'll find no reception at that Online service again which I'm sure is third party rather than a Dell department. I could sure use some help as to what to put check marks to in the list below. The only one checked before I decided to tamper then stopped myself was the Kaspersky. Something tells me I need better advice than I started to give myself. Should I select them all again (less whichever one stops the pesky RA window) or are do I need to ne more selective and if so... which ones do I turn on?
