New Around Here
I bought the RT N66U a few days ago and after it finally getting to work for me WAN -> WLAN performance wise I am very happy..... untill I noticed a flaw in my nearly satisfactory setup..:

The HW acceleration is set to 'disabled by user'.

I would like to get this fixed for LAN transfer purposes.

Since I have a modem/router combo that can't be set in bridge mode, I have RT N66 set to AP (access point) mode.
I use the latest Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.42_0.

After flashing to Merlin I have done a reset aswell as the clear NVRAM with the 30 sec/WPS. The HW Acceleration was enabled at that point.

What I did after that was setting my SSIDs and their channels and changing to AP mode.

I have read that I should have Enable IPTraffic (per IP monitoring) disabled. I never touched that option and it is disabled.
Also it could have something to do with QoS. I don't have access to QoS in AP mode, but it was disabled before turning to AP.

I just turned firewall off to test my setup just before turning to AP, but I havent read about that being an issue. It's just that I have no clue what else it could be.

Is there any other option I could check in this AP mode that would make HW acceleration enabled again?

Thanks!

HW acceleration has no effect on an AP. It's only useful in Router mode.

Thanks for your quick response! :)

Aha, I thought it might affect the speed of file transfer between computers on the LAN, connected to the N66U AP, but as I understand it well, this is more a WAN/first router feature?

(I'm sorry for any incorrect grammar, English isn't my native language)

Correct. HW acceleration will mostly help when traffic has to go through the router's FORWARD chain, which mostly happens in Router mode. LAN to LAN is unaffected.
